An active Mother's Day with my family!

It was a lovely day because I was outdoors in our beautiful island with my family. The weather was great for hiking, no rain but slightly overcast and cool. Traditionally, many families celebrate Mother's Day by taking their moms out to sit down at a restaurant and eat eat eat.  I decided that I wanted to experience a different kind of Mother's Day.  I informed my family that I preferred to be outdoors and have an active, fun day with them.  My children decided that we would hike up to the second of the Concord Falls. It was exciting, because none of us had been to that second waterfall before.

It was a great hike. It took about 25 minutes to hike up the slope and climb some rocks. The waterfall was magnificent. The water was cold and invigorating, and felt great after the up hill trek. It was well worth the climb. I am looking forward to  the next Mother's Day and hopefully, this can be established as a tradition in our family.
